Technology & delivery
Connecting the pieces: websites, hosting, integrations and the technical decisions that keep a digital product working.
TECHNOLOGY LEADER / FOUNDER / CREATIVE
Rooted in culture.
Driven to build.
I'm Akil Quirindongo. Technology professional, entrepreneur and lifelong music lover. I build digital experiences with purpose — and bring my whole self to the work.
01 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK
A man achieves according to his beliefs.
I like understanding how things work. I like making them work better even more.
My work brings together technology and entrepreneurship. Alongside my role at ABN AMRO, I run AQWebIT and build projects of my own. Each setting gives me a different perspective: the responsibility of an established organisation, the practical demands of running a business, and the freedom to start something new.
Drinkzy grew from a simple thought: a good drink is often part of a moment worth remembering. That same curiosity drives the rest of my work. Find something that matters, understand it, and build from there.
Through AQWebIT I craft and maintain websites for businesses small and large, and I help them put AI to work. I am also a professional voice actor: my voice is used in several educational projects.
Working in an environment where technology, trust and responsibility meet.
AQWebIT, Drinkzy and personal projects. From an initial idea to the work of keeping it running.
A professional voice, used in several educational projects.
A seasoned host. Radio has run through my work since my first internet station in the early 2000s.
ONE JOURNEY. MANY WAYS TO CONNECT.
First-year diploma in Business Administration.
To study Business Information Systems.
A first major digital project.
My first serious job. From helpdesk to webmaster, Scrum master and Agile coach.
Technical Product Owner for the My Nuon platform.
Product development, and since 2021 Product Owner Azure Products.
Building for businesses.
Music and cultural connection.
Making room for conversation.
New names. New possibilities.
02 / A PORTFOLIO OF CURIOSITY
A few places where my ideas
have become something real.
A personal drinks journal to log, rate and remember what you've tried. From coffee to cocktails, Drinkzy gives the drink and the moment a place to live.
My full-service web agency. I craft and maintain websites for businesses small and large: design, development, hosting, email and SEO. And I stay on as the partner who keeps them fast, safe and current. It grew from a journey that began with internet radio in the early 2000s and became AQWebIT in 2025.
AI consultancy. Practical advice on putting AI to work in your business: AI-powered marketing, content at scale, workflow automation and smart assistants that give you hours back. From quick wins to a clear AI roadmap.
Does your business deserve a better website, or are you curious what AI can do for you? Let's talk.
An online radio project connecting listeners through Caribbean music. What began with RadioFruz in 2003 grew into a place to share music, culture and a sense of home.
A podcast I started in 2024 to make room for real conversations. It is less active today, but remains part of my story: a love of listening, music, people and the experiences they carry.
03 / EXPERIENCE INTO ACTION
The skills I bring to the table,
and how I put them to use.
Connecting the pieces: websites, hosting, integrations and the technical decisions that keep a digital product working.
Turning an idea into a useful experience. Thinking about the first visit, the first action and what makes someone come back.
Moving between the bigger picture and the details. Building, learning from real use and taking responsibility for the next step.
04 / HOW I BUILD WITH AI
AI is part of how I work
across my projects.
A creative and technical partner.
With me in the driver's seat.
I use AI to explore ideas, shape content, work through technical challenges and move from a first thought to a working prototype. It helps me make progress across Drinkzy, AQWebIT and my other projects.
The direction, judgment and responsibility stay with me. I review the output, test what matters and decide what is worth putting into the world.
Ask better questions, look at alternatives and turn an initial idea into something clear.
Develop copy, designs and prototypes, then refine them with a clear purpose.
Work through problems, check the results and learn from how people actually use a project.
05 / WHERE IT ALL BEGINS
I was born on Curaçao, the son of Joceline Clemencia and Frank Quirindongo. My work is one part of my story. My family, culture and the island I come from are another.
MY MOTHER / MY GREATEST INSPIRATION
A Curaçaoan linguist, author, feminist and activist. Her work championed Papiamentu, emancipation and Curaçao's independence. She led the Instituto Kultural Independensha, where teaching Papiamentu held an important place.
My mother remains my greatest source of inspiration. Her memory belongs here, alongside everything I build.
About her legacy · Clemencia-Redmond FoundationMY FATHER / HISTORY & HERITAGE
An educator involved in Curaçao's historical awareness. Caribisch Netwerk has reported on his work as a teacher and, in 2020, as chair of the Slavery Platform and Legacy of Slavery, advocating access to the island's historical records.
His perspective on knowing your past adds another dimension to the story of where I come from.
History & heritage · Caribisch Netwerk06 / BEYOND THE SCREEN
The things I care about
find their way into what I build.
Music has been a big part of my life since I was young. I play bass guitar, sing and play a little piano. It is something I enjoy for myself, and something I love sharing — through the web radio, AQTalkz and the people those projects bring together.
Sport matters in my daily life. It gives the day structure and creates time to focus on something away from the screen. The habit of showing up is something I carry into my projects too.
07 / A MOMENT OF PERSPECTIVE
STILL CURIOUS. STILL BUILDING.
This is a snapshot of what I do, and what drives me.
The next chapter starts with another good question.
